Alexander Von Humboldt called " The Avenue of the Volcanoes",
valleys enclosed between the two main Andes Cordilleras which are 15.000
feet high, Indian markets and colonial cities, the trip through Ecuador´s
Andes mountains is unique in many ways.
For many years now, hikers and climbers from all over the world have
been travelling to Ecuador. Here they can find optimal Andes trekking
and mountaineering conditions. Ecuador provides a great variety of highlands
that are gloriously colorful (and sometimes completely isolated). They
offer a wide range of hiking and trekking routes - everything from easy
day hikes for beginners to long treks that cross passes above glacier
level. Here the outdoor traveler learns about some stunning features of
Ecuador: highest mountain at the equator, highest active volcano on earth,
most active volcano in South America, etc....
The Andes of Ecuador offer an incredible variety of landscape, nature,
culture and adventure. National parks, nature reserves, archaeological
sites, indigenous villages and superbly beautiful scenery abound. Quito,
the cultural centre of the Andes and the capital of the country, is a
World Heritage Site.
Our tours offer you a unique opportunity to experience the very best
of the Andes. If you don't see a tour that meets your interests or requirements,
just let us know and we will design one for you and your budget.
TREKKING IN THE ANDES
The following day tours can be part of an acclimatization program.

in the province of the same name. At one time it was thought to
be the highest active volcano in the world. It is still considered
one of the highest, but modern mapping and measurement techniques
have provided more accurate data around the globe, and Cotopaxi
no longer has this fame
PASOCHOA (4200mt.)

one of the last remnants of interandean high altitude forest. There
are many well marked trails to walk or to acclimatize climb to the

protection, so we always use ropes, harness, and hard hats. In the
first half of the year there can be a snow covering on the ridge
and peak snow gear can be needed, including crampons and ice axe.

where we can look westwards into the ancient crater. Ideal as a
second or third destination on an acclimatization program. Eco-Trails
has an agreement with the farm owners and can obtain permits to
take our vehicles part way up the mountain.

the refuge and overlooking the glacier.A visit to El Pisque hot
springs is an optional end to this day.Sometimes we see Condors
on this trip.

The Quilotoa Volcano with its typical villages like Chugchílan
and Zumbahua , is located at only 3 hours from Quito. Small indigenous
comunities live there from agriculture. This huge volcanic crater
is barely visible until you arrive. Set in the mountains near Tigua,
